“I took this photograph when I was thirteen years old. It was taken outside the Wyandot Mission Church & Cemetery in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. I remember directing my friend Dan to cast his shadow onto the wall so it would look like a ghost ready to enter the window.”

David’s passion for photography began at an early age. He constructed a pinhole camera from an oatmeal box for a seventh grade science fair project. He also learned how to process and print black & white photographs in his closet/darkroom. By the time high school rolled around, he was shooting with a “real” 35mm camera, working as a photographer and then editor of his high school yearbook. His interest in photography continued during the college years and later became his professional calling.

For over two decades, David has traveled the world photographing assignments for a number of corporate clients.  Much of his work chronicles large transportation and construction projects. Although he has mastered a variety of styles and has photographed many different subjects, he describes himself as one who "specializes in photographing landscapes -- both natural and man-made." David applies similar techniques whether he is photographing mountain peaks at sunrise or an international airport at sunset.

David credits his continuous pursuit of knowledge as a key element to his success. “You need to be familiar with your subject" he explains. He is constantly reading and researching locations, subjects and equipment.

For years he has been fascinated with the panoramic format. “With a wide-view camera I can get the feeling of peripheral vision. The panoramic image relates the subject in front of the camera lens to the infinity of its surroundings. “In essence, I can highlight an object or person, and at the same time, show its harmony and communication with the surrounding environment."

His images have appeared in numerous books, magazines, web sites and corporate publications including the covers of Time Magazine and Business Week. McDonalds Corporation selected one of his panoramics for a four-page fold out cover on their annual report.

While traveling and photographing assignment projects for his clients, David often stays additional time in the various locations to photograph his own personal work. Images from his personal collection are available as high quality fine art photographs, custom large scale photo wall murals and as high resolution digital files.

About Prime Images

Our company name, Prime Images, Inc., reflects the idea that we create images … not just photos.

We work along with architects, interior designers, art consultants, contractors and private individuals to create custom wall art installations.

David’s large scale photographic images are used as wall art in healthcare facilities, corporate offices, boardrooms, hotels and restaurants, airports, government buildings and residential environments. Anywhere you would like to bring the beauty and serenity of nature indoors !

Photographs are used both to decorate the walls and to help visitors navigate their way around the various hallways and wings in this Florida hospice facility.

Several of our panoramic images were licensed for this hospital MRI room project.

Artwork that helps bring a sense of tranquility and calm for people in high stress environments.

Studies show that simply viewing a garden or another natural vista can reduce blood pressure and pulse rate and can even increase brain activity that controls mood-lifting feelings.

Our fine art photographs on paper and canvas are printed using archival grade inks. Not mass produced posters or machine prints from some big box lab. Special sizes and crops and triptych arrangements can be made to your exact specifications.

Large prints and artwork make a powerful statement. They draw you into the image. You become part of the scene. A feeling of being there. A feeling of escape. A feeling of wonder. You can look from side to side and take in the whole view. Or you can step up close and examine the small details.

We start with large format and high resolution original images. This makes a big difference when making large scale artwork. We have all seen what happens when someone tries to make a large print from a small negative or digital file. The picture looks fuzzy or grainy, not a pretty sight. Our high resolution images look sharp and clean with rich saturated colors.

We also partner with wide-format printing companies to create large scale photo wall murals. Our high resolution images are available to license for custom printing projects.
